When this family invited us to reimagine their terraced house living room, they shared a beautiful paradox: they wanted classical sophistication that didn't feel intimidating, elegance that embraced everyday chaos. At DreamR, we love these gentle contradictions – they often lead to the most soulful spaces.

Finding the Perfect Balance

The magic happened in the marriage of traditional and contemporary elements. We introduced custom wainscoting and rich wood detailing – those timeless touches that speak of heritage and craftsmanship. But instead of stopping there, we softened everything with curved furniture and gentler edges, ensuring the space felt approachable rather than formal.

The custom wall panels became our architectural foundation, creating rhythm and structure while establishing that understated luxury the family craved. It's classical design with a modern heart.

A Canvas of Calm

Color became our secret weapon for creating serenity. Soft whites and warm beiges wrap the walls, providing the perfect backdrop for richer, darker wood accents. This natural contrast brings depth and balance while maintaining that open, airy feeling essential for family life.

The palette directly supports what the homeowners really wanted: a space where they could truly unwind after Singapore's intensity.

We selected plush fabric sofas that invite you to sink in and stay awhile – because what's the point of a beautiful living room if it doesn't actually support living? Every piece was chosen for both visual appeal and genuine comfort.

Bringing the Outside In

Perhaps our favorite element is the seamless integration with the outdoor seating area through a full-height opening. Rather than treating interior and exterior as separate worlds, we encouraged natural flow between them. More light, fresh air, and flexibility for everything from entertaining to quiet morning coffee moments.

Subtle cove lighting adds warmth while highlighting architectural details, creating that perfect evening ambiance without harsh shadows.
